Results – Jesters Harrow Junior Silver #6B

Around 60 boys and girls competed in the Jesters Harrow Junior Silver event at Goodlife – Queensview, February 10-11, with 16 from Toronto, 10 from Sudbury, and 4 from Winnipeg.

In the Boys events, Ottawa players took the BU 19 (Barratt Aass), BU 17 (Philippe Shillington), BU 15 (Max Shewchenko), and BU 13 (Benoit Salmon) events, while Nat Chandra of Toronto beat fellow Torontonian, Logan Simmons, in five games for the BU 11 title. On the Girls side, Montreal’s Joelle Vega took the GU 19/17 title, Shirin Batra of Toronto won the GU 15/13 title in 5 over Gabby Waite, also of Toronto, while Paige Dawson of the Sudbury YMCA beat Emilie Wallace of the RA Centre in the GU 11. The medal for endurance goes to Kijana Drouin Pinkos of Sudbury, who played over 420 points in her five GU 11 matches!

The organizers really appreciated the visit of the 30 out-of-town players who, with parents and chaperones, braved Ottawa’s February weather. Among these were Gary Waite, one of Canada’s most decorated squash players, who, with his wife Nathalie, were here to watch Gabby, Thalia, and Victor compete.
