ODSA Sponsorship Policies

The ODSA aims to promote squash in the Ottawa area. To do this it will use its available finances to subsidize various squash activities. (This support is based on a positive financial situation of the ODSA. Should the ODSA’s financial situation deteriorate, sponsorship activities would be suspended. The ODSA will not practice deficit financing.) The list below details routine sponsorship activities that the ODSA will support.

Student Subsidies at Ottawa Area Open Tourneys

A student is defined as someone under the age of 26 years, who is a full time student. The ODSA will provide a $5 subsidy for students participating in open tourneys as long as the discounted price, showing a difference of $5 between an adult price and a student price, is displayed on the tourney advertising flyers. (subsidy to go to tournament organizing committee/director)

The ODSA will provide an additional $5 subsidy if the tournament matches the second ODSA $5. (This would give students a total of $15 in direct subsidies.) The discounted price, showing a difference of $15 between an adult price and a student price, would need to be displayed on the tourney advertising flyers. (subsidy to go to tournament organizing committee/director)

To obtain the student subsidy, a listing of participating students indicating their name, age, and home club or city is to be submitted to the ODSA with the request for tourney sponsorship.

Subsidies for Ottawa Area Student Referees

A student is defined as someone under the age of 26 years, who is a full time student. The ODSA will offer a $20 subsidy to a student taking and passing a certification officiating clinic and becoming a Squash Canada Certified Official.
