Robin Clarke

Biography

Born in Ottawa, ON in 1986, and educated at Earl of March Secondary School, Kanata. He was a member of Goodlife Queensview Club, where he was coached by Heather Wallace. He moved to Toronto in 2004, where he received further coaching from Michael Way. He has been an Assistant Professional at the Toronto Cricket, Skating & Curling Club since 2011. He joined the Professional Squash Association (PSA) in 2004, and the Squash Doubles Association (SDA) in 2014, and has played on both circuits. He continues to live in Toronto with wife Laura and their dog Quinn. During the past 20 years, he has achieved the following successes.

Accomplishments

  • Won Canadian Boys’ U14 (1999) and U19 (2004) Singles titles.
  • Won Ontario Boys’ U15 (2000) and U19 (2004), and Ontario Men’s Open (2004 and 2007) Singles titles.
  • Winner of Canadian Men’s Doubles (2014,2015,2016,and 2017) and Canadian Mixed Doubles (2014).
  • Winner of Ontario Mixed Doubles (2016).
  • Member of Canadian teams at World Junior Team Championships – Chennai (2002) and Islamabad (2004).
  • Member of Men’s team, which won Silver, at the PanAmerican Games in Rio de Janeiro (2007).
  • Member of Canadian teams at PanAmerican Championships in El Salvador (2005), Columbia (2006), and Equador (2008). He placed 3/4 in Singles in Equador, and was on team that came 2nd in Columbia.
  • Member of Canadian team at Commonwealth Games in Delhi (2010).
  • Member of Ontario Men’s team which won the Canadian Men’s Team title (2009).
  • Winner of 2 PSA events – Ottawa Open (2008) and Costa Rica Open (2010).
  • Winner of 2 SDA events – Pittsburgh Open (2015) and Ridley Windows and Doors Toronto Cup (2016).
  • His highest PSA ranking was 68 (2009) and SDA ranking was 8 (2016).
