Recently (weekend of 4-6 Mar 2016) the Ottawa area was represented at the Ontario Junior Team Championships. Our junior team roster was:

- Girls U13: Rachel Zachariah
- Boys U13: Max Shewchenko
- Boys U15: Barrett Aass
- Boys U17: Tarun Balaraj
- Boys U19: Franco Patry
- Coach: Ian Woodhead
- Manager: Leah Shaw
The event was held at the Ontario Racquet Club in Mississauga and eight teams from around the province competed with several team rosters particularly deep in talent. Team Ottawa found itself in a pool with Toronto Mississauga (2), York North, and South-Western Ontario. Team Ottawa had numerous tight matches during the initial round robin matches but in the end found itself in 4th place after round robin play. That pitted them against Niagara in the crossover (and third) match on Saturday. The two regions were closely matched, but Ottawa ultimately fell 5 matches to 3. Undeterred, Team Ottawa returned Sunday morning to defeat Northern Muskoka, 5 matches to 3 to finish third in the consolation draw. In the overall championship encounter Toronto Mississauga (1) beat Toronto Mississauga (2); 5 matches to 3.
Catherine Giachino (GU17) and Barrett Aass (BU15) both had strong showings, each winning 4 out of 5 matches. A big thank-you to Ian Woodhead (Head Pro at the OAC) and Leah Shaw (ODSA Jr committee treasurer and lead coordinator) for their coaching and coordination efforts.
