At the Ontario Junior Open Championships, played at the White Oaks Club, St Catherines, March 23-25, our six local players were in great form. Iman Shaheen, just 13 this month, captured the Girls’ Under 15 title, without losing a game. Dominic Wren won the BU 19 Consolation final, after a couple of gruelling 5 game matches, while Barrett Aass took the BU 17 Consolation title.
Catherine Giachino placed a very creditable 3rd in the GU 19 Round Robin. Max Shewchenko won the BU 15 Bronze event, while Thomas Porter reached the final of the BU 19 Bronze event.
