The ODSA was proud to send five of our juniors to the BMO Nesbitt Burns Ontario Junior Closed competition on November 23-25, 2018. They were joined by the Ontario Regional coach Stephen Neal. Mikola Czich also made the trip as one of the official referees.
Felix Scholberg, Max Shewchenko, and Mathieu Shillington competed in the boys Under 17 draw, while Barrett Aass and Philippe Shillington competed in the boys under 19.
Max made it to the semi-final of the BU17 Consolation draw. (He won 3 of his 5 matches.)
Felix and Mathieu (who train together at the OAC) met in the final of the BU17 Bronze plate with Felix winning the contest in 3 tight games.
Philippe won the Bronze plate in the BU19 draw.
For many of our competitors this is their first exposure to this high standard of play, and we look forward to supporting them at the Canadian Junior Open in 2 weeks.
