Results – 2019 Quebec Junior Open

Between March 22 and 24, close to 60 junior players congregated at La Sportheque to compete in the 9 Boys and Girls age categories, and in two Mixed Novice events, at the Quebec Junior Championships. Several players competed in more than one event, with Marat Sargsyan, of Montreal, beating Romain Salmon 12-10,12-10,4-11,11-4 for the BU17 title, and Robert de la Riva 11-2,11-5, 11-3 for the BU15 crown.

In the U19s, Tarun Balaraj recovered to win 9-11,11-7,8-11,11-9,11-8 over Barrett Aass, while Iman Shaheen, also of Ottawa, recorded a comfortable 11-7,11-6,11-4 win over Montreal’s Jasmine Boucley. Other ODSA area winners included Benoit Salmon (BU13), Alexandria Crisostomo (GU11), and Rosalie Jenkins (Novice U19).
