Things continue to slowly rebound to somewhat normal time (post COVID). During the last weekend of Feb 2023 Squash Ontario hosted its annual masters team championships. This year, the ODSA was proudly represented by 5 keen master squashers from the ODSA area. The above picture shows the team with plenty of glint in their eyes before the tourney began. (Our team was last year’s winner so they had a good idea of what was required.) From left to right. Front row, Helen Kennedy (WSQ) and Lorraine Tetreault (WSQ). So the tourney began with our ODSA team seeded #1. (Remember they were defending champions).
- First match had them playing the Southwest B2 Team. Result / a comfortable 4-1 victory.
- Second match had them playing the Toronto North team. Result / another comfortable 4-1 victory.
- Third and Final match had them playing the Southwest B1 team. It was tight as they split the 4 matches 2 each. In the 5th match Steve Corbell needed to pull out the win if they were going to hang on and defend their title. The last match was particularly tight and intense, but Steve Corbell managed to pull out his match win, giving our ODSA team, a 3-2 win.
